Program Details
The comprehensive Dental Assisting curriculum is a
10-week hybrid online and dental office based program consisting of the following:

Online Courses
3 hours per week online courses for 7 weeks
Student learn via pre-recorded instructional training videos, lecture slides and complete quizzes and tests
​
Mandatory Certifications
One 8 hour course on a Saturday
Become X-ray Certified
Infection Control Certification
Polishing Certificate (optional)
In Person Courses
​8 hours per week in person courses
Monday & Wednesday 4:30PM-8:30PM
All in person hours will be held at

Externship
Required 2 week (40 hours) s of externship at local dental offices

​Serafin Orellana, RDA
Instructor
​
Serafin has grown up here in Concord and is no stranger to the Bay Area. He has been a RDA since 2011 and has been working in various dental offices since. Over the years he’s gained experience in providing excellent patient care by excelling in taking accurate and quick x-rays, carving temporaries for multi-unit restorations, taking alginate and scanned impressions and working quickly and efficiently with the doctor chairside. Patients and coworkers love him because he is patient and a great communicator. He is passionate about the dental field and enjoys passing on his knowledge to all new coming assistants in the field. In his free time he enjoys hiking, fishing and being outdoors.
Katie Tran, DDS​

Born in Concord, CA, Dr. Tran is no stranger to the neighborhood. She has since been practicing dentistry for over thirteen years in New York & California as well as Honduras outreaches. She opened the doors to Casa Dental in 2014 and has been serving the city of Concord ever since. With the continued growth of Casa Dental and a larger team of doctors and assistants, she noticed that there were many people who were interested in getting into the field of dentistry but didn't know where to start. With that, Angel Dental Assisting School was born and is the first in the East Bay area with an accelerated program. In her free time you can find her practicing hot pilates and playing with her two young children and their French bulldog, Montana!
Barbara Ascencio, RDA
Instructor

This instructor has been an RDA for 5 years. Having worked in various other fields, Barbara fell into dentistry and has been in love with it ever since. She loves being on her feet, working with a team and loves educating patients on their oral health. She is one of the fastest learners when she just started and became experienced very quickly. She has loved learning new skills and is well versed in oral surgery and orthodontics specialty as well. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and her young son.
